Leadership Descriptions: Regional Chairs

The Regional Chairs are elected by the individual regions at conference and serve a one year term. They may elect to run again at the next conference, but may serve no more than two terms as Regional Chair. Each Regional Chair must have been a full time student for the entire calendar year during his first term and at least one semester of his second term.

The Regional Chairs serve as voting members of the Executive Board. They are involved in the day to day communication and decision making of the Executive Board and are expected to be available to attend the quarterly National Team meetings and participate in the monthly conference calls of the National Team.

The Regional Chair is the motivational and spiritual leader of her Region and should work to ensure that communication is fluid both within his Region and among all of the Regions. It is the job of the Regional Chair to continue the work of the Region from the previous year and to work with the Executive Board and his Regional Team to develop and execute a plan for the year he serves as Regional Chair.

The Regional Chair should conduct at least two face to face meetings throughout the year, one in the spring and one in the fall. The Regional Chair is encouraged to conduct Regional meetings or gather reports via the telephone or the internet in months where face to face meetings to not occur. Minutes of these meetings should be kept and presented with the Regional Chair’s reports at the quarterly National Team meetings.
